A Homage to Nonna’s House II is a collection of works that honours the memories of my grandparents home; a thoughtfully curated space filled with mid-century Danish furniture, beautiful handmade ceramics, amongst the art and silver jewellery made by my grandfather, Nonno. Everything they owned was used, loved and cherished, each holding its own story and having a dedicated place. Inviting curiosity whilst encouraging interaction and an appreciation for beautiful objects; Nonna would serve homemade ice cream in Lucy Rie bowls to her daughters whilst a Bernard Leach fruit bowl lived on the dinner table. Through this body of work, I aim to recreate the essence of Nonna’s house capturing the harmonious and thoughtful collection of items they curated throughout their lives, invoking a playfulness that questions the function of familiar objects, blending them into new forms and providing a space to create new narratives.
